Les crocodiles blancs

fourteen

I’m learning Debussy’s Arabesqe No. 1 on the piano right now. It is so beautiful… and so hard to play quickly! Hopefully someday I will be able to play it perfectly memorized. I love it when I know a song so well that it is engrained into my muscle memory, and even if I don’t play it for months, I can sit down, put my fingers on the keys, and it will pour out as good as new.

I think jellyfish go along with Debussy’s music very well… both have a definite sense of grace, of light, dancing beauty… and both seem so… special? I don’t know. Unique, I suppose… almost untouchable. Photo from flickr.
